Artist Biographies
![]() BethBeth's interest in drawing and painting began at a very early age. She was trained at the Illinois Institute of Art and holds a Master's degree in Art Therapy. She has over ten years of combined experience in the fields of art, education, and entertainment. In her spare time, Beth indulges in her other loves: reading, sewing, and jewelry-making. She strongly believes that no one is ever too old to learn new things or have a good laugh.
![]() JonathanJonathan graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Art Education. Along with being a practicing artist, he teaches art at a local elementary school. Jonathan’s artwork is multidisciplinary including painting, drawing, prints, sculpture, and photography.
![]() KrystynaKrystyna graduated from the American Academy of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Watercolor. She has developed a unique style in which her understanding of nature, love of people, energy and attention to detail gives her an amazing ability to create a painting that shows the subtle emotions and sights she sees and experiences in life and nature. She says she honors the talent given to her and feels delighted in being able to share them with others. "I am excited to teach at the Tipsy Paint because I love to share my knowledge with others!
![]() KarlKarl has been a life-long globe-trotting artist. Karl began his career as an illustrator for posters, products and advertising campaigns. In addition to teaching at Tipsy paint, Karl also does commission work for canvas or murals. Karl studied art in Germany at Hamburg’s Hochschule fur Bildende Kunste under Austrian surrealist Rudolf Hausner. He also taught and painted at Lanchester Polytechnic in Coventry, England under the tutelage of English pop artist Richard Hamilton. Karl currently lives in Chicago. His public murals can be viewed in Lincoln Square, the campus of IIT, and the Rainforest Cafe.
![]() ValVal believes the word artist belongs to anyone who creates. As an artist, she expresses herself througha wide range of mediums, including canvas, photography, furniture & silk. Her newest passion is painting in wax. When not not teaching at Tipsy Paint, Val provides custom decorative painting for residential and commercial spaces, color consultation, and commissioned art pieces. Her work has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Better Homes and Gardens and HGTV. Val studied Fine Art at Northeastern University and the Art Institute of Chicago. She loves sharing her knowledge and excitement so that the artist inside all of us can shine.
![]() FrankieFrankie is a student at Glenbrook South High School, where she has taken photography, drawing, painting, ceramics, and advanced placement art classes. When not teaching at Tipsy Paint (or attending class), you can find her teaching martial arts. Frankie plans to pursue a career in the field of art therapy. |
